The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) said Monday that US Airways mechanics have voted to retain IAM as their union representative, rejecting an effort by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) to take over as the workers’ representative. Over five weeks of voting, US Airways mechanics and related employees voted 1,903 to 1,418 (58% to 42%) to retain IAM over IBT, according to IAM.
