Finnair is preparing for disruptions in domestic and regional flights beginning Dec.1 as a result of a planned industrial action by pilots of its regional operation, Nordic Regional Airlines (Norra).

The airline was informed about an industrial action regarding standby work by Norra’s pilots’ union, FAPA ry.

Norra operates many of Finnair’s domestic and European routes using a fleet of 12 ATR 72-500s and 12 Embraer E190s.

Flight cancellations are possible, Finnair said. The airline is wet-leasing an ATR turboporp from Danish Air Transport (DAT), which will be used for flights that might otherwise be canceled.

In August, Finnair sold 60% of Norra to DAT, marking the latest in a series of ownership changes at the Finnish regional carrier since 2015.
