OnAir announced that Emirates selected its Mobile OnAir and Internet OnAir inflight connectivity service for its A380 fleet of 90 aircraft. Installation will start at the beginning of 2011; the first OnAir-equipped Emirates A380 is slated to begin service in June 2012.
Aviation Technical Services will install Lumexis Corp.'s Fiber-to-the-Screen IFEsystem onboard 44 "new post-delivery modification" flydubai 737-800s. Installation will commence in October.
ARINC was selected by Singapore Airlines to provide its VeriPax Passenger Reconciliation System at Singapore Changi for passenger handling. The system provides high-speed processing using information from 2D barcodes on boarding passes. ARINC said it is currently installing VeriPax for an unidentified airport customer and that "multiple new product features are under development."
GuestLogix announced it has deployed its onboard store solution on all Frontier Airlines flights including those operated by Chautauqua Airlines and Republic Airlines, enabling onboard stores to accept credit cards using point-of-sale handheld devices. It announced the multiyear agreement in February (ATW Daily News, Feb. 26).
