Orbitz for Business rebrands, launches int'l services

Orbitz Worldwide launched Orbitz for Business International, described as a customized solution for U.S. companies with international travel requirements.
Orbitz Worldwide also is rebranding its
Corporate Travel Solutions Group, which comprises Orbitz for Business and Travelport for Business, under a single Orbitz for Business brand identity.

Orbitz for Business International will offer global fulfillment and call center support and multi-language and time/date formats.

It plans to offer in-market support in Canada, the U.K., and Australia.

Other features include:

  • Policy markings in the air matrix.
  • Constant visibility of unused air ticket credits
  • Individualized settings supporting 200 currencies.
  • The ability to compare up to nine searches from various airports.

In addition to the English-speaking countries, Orbitz for Business International is in beta test in 13 other countries.

The rebranded Orbitz for Business portfolio includes three distinct products:

Road Warrior: a microsite of Orbitz.com that offers business-specific tools like Wi-Fi finder, restaurant reservations, business hotel reviews and relevant inventory for independent and unmanaged business travelers.

Orbitz for Business, Self-Managed: Designed for small businesses whose travel expenditure is less than $250,000 per year and that seek lower transaction fees and negotiated business hotel rates. The product offers small businesses a scaled managed program, including many features and benefits of the larger Orbitz for Business managed site.

Orbitz for Business: A full-service, online corporate travel agency for companies with many travelers and managed program needs. It is designed for companies seeking higher adoption rates and online tools customized for a business audience. It offers more in-depth reporting tools, advanced policy and executive VIP care services for companies with larger numbers of travelers and more comprehensive travel requirements.

Orbitz was acquired by Cendant Corp., the predecessor company to Travelport, in 2004.

In July, Travelport held an IPO of Orbitz shares but retains a 59% stake in the company, now known as Orbitz Worldwide.
