Korean Air has submitted a bid to take a 44% stake in CSA Czech Airlines, according to multiple reports from Seoul and Prague.

The airline is owned by several Czech Republic government institutions, but the government has indicated it wants to partially or fully privatize the loss-making carrier. Korean Air had been considering making a bid and confirmed to several news outlets that it officially made a multi-million dollar bid last week.

Czech media reported that Korean Air is the only bidder. Qatar Airways had also contemplated bidding for a stake in Czech Airlines, but has reportedly declined to do so.

Both Korean Air and Czech Airlines are members of SkyTeam.
