Romanian carrier Tarom signed an order for five Boeing 737 MAX 8s, valued at $586 million at list prices. The order was announced on the opening day of Farnborough, July 16, and was previously listed as going to an unidentified customer on Boeing's Orders & Deliveries website. The aircraft will be powered by CFM International LEAP-1Bs, the sole-source engine on the MAX.
