Russia’s UTair Express Airlines has signed a technical support agreement with PowerJet for the SaM146 engines that power its fleet of Sukhoi Superjet 100LRs (SSJ100LRs).

The regional carrier will take delivery of the first of six SSJ100LRs later in June; it is scheduled to take delivery of all aircraft before the end of the year.

UTair Express unveiled the new SSJ100LR livery at the end of May.

UTair signed a lease agreement for six SSJ100LRs with Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Co. and VEB Leasing at the 2013 MAKS Air Show in an order valued at $217.2 million at current list prices. VEB Leasing will purchase the aircraft for delivery to UTair.

PowerJet, founded in July 2004, is a joint venture between Snecma and NPO Saturn. It manages the SaM146 engine program, which powers the Superjet 100 regional jet.
