American Airlines has selected CFM International’s advanced LEAP-1A engine to power its new fleet of 100 Airbus A320neo family aircraft. CFM said the engine order is valued at $2.6 billion at current list prices. The aircraft order was originally announced in July 2011; deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2017.
