Singapore-based long-haul low-cost carrier (LCC) Scoot has launched a new Singapore-Melbourne service using Boeing 787-8 aircraft on a 5X-weekly schedule. The aircraft will be fitted with 314 economy and 21 business-class seats. The schedule from Singapore Changi to Melbourne Tullamarine will be the second Australian route the carrier has opened up this year following the launch of the Perth schedule in February.
