China’s Hainan Airlines is gearing up to launch a second Canadian flight to Calgary, the home base of interline partner WestJet Airlines. The Haikou-based carrier plans to start service between Calgary and Beijing on June 30 with a Boeing 787, Hainan announced Feb. 5. The 3X-weekly flight will depart from Calgary and Beijing on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Hainan said this will be extended to 4X-weekly frequencies later on.
