Moscow Sheremetyevo traffic up 16.7% in 2011

Moscow Sheremetyevo (SVO) served 22.6 million passengers in 2011, 16.7% more than 2010. Traffic on international routes increased 18.1% and reached 14.5 million. Traffic on domestic routes was 8 million, up 14.3% over 2010.

Carriers with high growth at the airport included Aeroflot, Transaero, Nord Wind, Air France and Turkish Airlines. The most popular foreign destinations were Antalya, Paris, Istanbul, Prague and Beijing. The highest demand was on the St. Petersburg, Sochi, Krasnodar and Yekaterinburg routes.

In 2011, SVO attracted Royal Air Maroc and Italian carrier Blue Panorama. Russian carriers OrenAir and Kolavia moved from other Moscow airports to SVO.
