Ukraine International Airlines Boeing 737-800
Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) said it has decreased frequencies of nonstop scheduled flights on certain routes by around 12% from Feb. 24 until March 29 due to political unrest in the country. According to the airline, the number of UIA-coded services will decrease from 343 to 305 scheduled flights per week during that timeframe.
“As a result of social and political crisis in Ukraine, the travel activity to and from the Ukraine has leveled off,” forcing the carrier to temporarily optimize its flight program, it said in a statement.
As soon as demand is back to normal, UIA said it will increase flight frequencies quickly and efficiently to regenerate the previously scheduled traffic activity.
Starting April 1, the airline plans to increase frequencies, offer new routes and operate on-season flights. It will launch nonstop Boeing 767-300 Kiev Boryspil International-New York JFK services on April 25.
