Overnight flight ban clouds opening of new Frankfurt runway

Frankfurt Airport (FRA) opened its €1.5 billion ($2.1 billion) fourth runway last month but controversy overshadowed the new 2.8 km air strip's debut.

A regional court halted night flights at FRA effective Oct. 30. The ruling forced Lufthansa Cargo (LHC) to axe 10 nighttime flights, costing the carrier "double digit million of euros."
