Icelandair and Canadian low-cost carrier WestJet have signed an interline agreement. Icelandair passengers will be able to potentially connect to more than 80 WestJet cities in the Americas and the Caribbean and WestJet passengers will gain access to more than 20 Icelandair destinations throughout Europe.
“Icelandair and WestJet share many of the same philosophies, including offering our passengers a refreshing travel experience,” Icelandair SVP-marketing and sales Helgi Mar Bjorgvinsson said.
Passengers will be able to connect to each carrier’s flights in Toronto and Halifax, to which Reykjavik-based Icelandair provides seasonal services.
Separately, Icelandair announced it will launch 4X-weekly Reykjavik Keflavik-Newark, N.J. services from Oct. 28.
Newark will be Icelandair’s 11th destination in North America.
