LHT Philippines aims to attract more LCC business with new offerings

Lufthansa Technik Philippines, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, said it intends to expand its activities to attract more business, particularly from LCCs. "We will be offering new products such as overhaul layovers and cabin refurbishments designed specifically for low-cost airlines," President and CEO Bernhard Krueger-Sprengel said.

Manila-based LHTP was established as a joint venture between LHT and the MacroAsia Corp. to perform MRO services on the A330/A340 family of aircraft, and added the A320 family in 2005. It has also started repairing engine components. Workforce has grown from 1,300 at start-up to 2,700 today. LHTP says it can provide an A340 D check in 22 days, which it claims is "the best time offered anywhere in the world."
