Airline Traffic

Air France KLM operated 19.09 billion RPKs in August, a 1.2% decrease from the year-ago month. Capacity was down 0.9% to 22.61 billion ASKs and load factor fell 0.3 points to 84.5%.

British Airways flew 10.55 billion RPKs in August, down 2.9% year-over-year. Capacity was cut 2.6% to 12.51 billion ASKs as load factor fell 0.3 points to 84.4%.

Continental Airlines said August consolidated RASM increased 18%-19% year-over-year. Traffic dropped 0.4% to 8.75 billion RPMs against a 1.1% decline in capacity to 10.12 billion ASMs. Load factor was up 0.7 points to 86.5%.

Air Canada and Jazz flew 5.49 billion RPMs in August, a 7.1% increase year-over-year, while capacity rose 7% to 6.33 billion ASMs. Load factor stayed flat at 86.8%.

AirTran Airways operated 1.88 billion RPMs in August, up 1.7% year-over-year, on a 2.1% increase in capacity to 2.22 billion ASMs. Load factor fell 0.4 points to 84.5%.

Aer Lingus flew 1.54 billion RPKs in August, down 10.4% year-over-year, against a 13.3% cut in capacity to 1.79 billion ASKs. Load factor rose 2.7 points to 85.7%.
 

EasyJet transported 5.2 million passengers in August, up 8.4% from the year-ago month. Load factor rose 0.5 points to 92.3%.

Air Berlin said it transported 3.73 million passengers in August, up 8.7%, while load factor fell 0.8 points to 83.5%.
