UK carrier Virgin Atlantic Airways has taken delivery of the first of 16 Boeing 787-9s. It is the first European airline to take delivery of the 787-9. The 787 is slated to cut Virgin’s fuel costs by 21% per trip and will be a “major driver” in its financial turnaround.
