Airbus, VietJet Air press conference
Vietnam low-cost carrier (LCC) VietJetAir has finalized a deal for up to 101 Airbus A320 family aircraft.
The deal was completed at the Singapore Airshow Tuesday at a signing ceremony with Airbus president and CEO Fabrice Bregier and VietJetAir vice chairwoman and CEO Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao. It covers firm orders for 42 A320neos, 14 ceos and seven A321ceos plus 30 options and leases for eight more A320s. Deliveries will start at the end of this year.
The carrier was launched two years ago and currently operates a fleet of 11 aircraft. It holds a 26% marketshare in Vietnam and has load factors of more than 90%.
