Scandinavian carrier SAS has signed a memorandum of understanding for eight Airbus A350-900s and four A330-300s as part of its strategy to modernize its fleet with more fuel-efficient aircraft. Rolls-Royce said SAS had placed an order worth $1 billion at list prices for Trent XWB and Trent 700 engines plus a service plan.
