Aviation Partners Boeing announced orders from both Allegiant Air and Air China for blended winglets. Installations have begun for Allegiant's six shipsets of 757-200 blended winglets; delivery of Air China's 30 737NG blended winglets will begin in 2011. It additionally said that Hainan Airlines has committed to install winglets on all future 737-800 deliveries (it currently has 45 on order).
GECAS will lease five new 737-800s to Travel Service Airline, with two to be delivered in 2011 and three in 2012.
Stansted Airport received Code F status from the UK Civil Aviation Authority, which will allow the A380 and 747-8 to operate from the airport, and was named Emirates' alternative airport for its A380s in case of necessary diversions.
Engine Alliance last week completed its 100th GP7200. It will equip an Air France A380, the fourth GP7200-equipped A380 for the carrier.
Uzbekistan Airways took delivery of its first A320, the first of 10 ordered directly from Airbus. The 150-passenger, two-class, CFM-56-powered aircraft will begin Tashkent-Baku service July 19.
