Bombardier introduced a significantly enhanced version of its CRJ900 that combines "substantially improved takeoff and landing performance and increased range." The company said the version was developed to provide better payload/range capability from shorter airfields. The improved takeoff and landing distances are made possible by combining optimization of wing leading-edge devices and a redesigned wingtip and winglet that results in a lower lift/drag ratio and reduced approach speeds. ...
