Lufthansa will introduce a new premium-economy class on its long-haul fleet as first-class demand weakens. Lufthansa said the gap between economy and business class has become too big. Lufthansa Passage Airlines CEO Carsten Spohr recently told ATW the carrier has not been sure if a premium economy class would cut into its business class. Lufthansa will establish a committee, which will start early next year, to design and implement the new product.
