Indonesian carrier Lion Air (JT) has selected the Boeing 787 over the Airbus A330 for its new premium carrier Batik Air.
Batik 787. Courtesy Boeing Indonesian carrier Lion Air (JT) has selected the Boeing 787 over the Airbus A330 for its new premium carrier Batik Air. Boeing confirmed the carrier has made a commitment to order five 787-8s. In February, JT firmed a commitment made in November for 201 Boeing 737 MAXs and 29 737-900ERs in a $22.4 billion contract that is Boeing’s largest ever. JT also acquired purchase rights for a further 150 737s (ATW Daily News Feb. 15).
