Japan Airlines (JAL) has placed a firm order for 10 Boeing 787-9s and converted 10 787-8s it already had on order to -9s.

The new order and conversion bring JAL's total Dreamliners on order to 45, comprising 25 -8s and 20 -9s (ATW Daily News, Dec. 15, 2011). It also still has 20 787 options.
