General Electric, parent of GE Aviation, has agreed to purchase Italian aerospace company Avio for $4.3 billion.

General Electric, parent of GE Aviation, has agreed to purchase Italian aerospace company Avio for $4.3 billion. The deal is subject to regulatory and governmental approvals. Turin-based Avio manufactures aviation propulsion components and systems for civil and military aircraft. GE will not be purchasing Avio’s space unit.
