787 customers maintain cool despite delays

Qantas, the largest customer for the 787, was among several carriers that offered generally muted responses yesterday to Boeing's announcement that it will delay first flight and first delivery by at least six months. QF said the delivery delay (ATWOnline, Oct. 11) will not "materially impact the operations of the Qantas Group of airlines." CEO Geoff Dixon said Boeing had assured the carrier that the 15 Dreamliners scheduled for delivery between August 2008 and December 2009 all would arrive ...
