Bisignani: Charges from ATC, airports, GDSs wiping out cost cuts

IATA claimed that the $2.1 billion in cost savings the airline industry achieved in 2009 have been wiped out by $2.6 billion in cost hikes by external service providers. In a stinging attack, CEO and DG Giovanni Bisignani told delegates at the AGM in Berlin that this year's "Wall of Shame" starts with the 19 European ANSPs that increased industry costs by $413 million.
